Nafplio or Anapli, is the capital of the prefecture of Argolis, one of the most famous and beautiful cities of Greece. It is built by the foot of the fortresses of Palamidi and Akronafplia.

According to mythology, Nafplio was built by Nafplion, the son of Poseidon and Danaida Amymonis.
The history of Nafplion begins in prehistoric times, it participated in the Argonautic expedition and the Trojan War. Declined in Roman times and recovered in the Byzantine, Franks, Venetians and Turks, all left their marks in the city.
